I like turning “what if?”
into “Let’s try.”
I’ve spent 20 years understanding and improving complex systems—from the flow of a factory to the way people shop and experiment online. Artificial intelligence, business intelligence, and continuous improvement connect that work: understand the problem, learn from the data, and build something better.
As an industrial engineer in Intel’s fabs, I worked in bunny suits, helping make the factories flow. It was hands-on work in the systems behind the chips.
I helped bring Kaizen into that work, facilitating numerous process improvement blitz events and eventually training other facilitators. Together, those efforts helped drive billions of dollars in improvements. Along the way, I earned my Six Sigma Green Belt.
My roles at Amazon spanned engineer, product manager, engineering leader, and general manager (GM), across Home Improvement (Parts, Paint, Projects), 3D Showroom rendering, and A/B experimentation on the Weblab team.
I focused on building the most customer-obsessed products I could dream up—“Save or Upgrade” remains a personal favorite.
I also built centers of excellence: leading a cohort of A/B experimentation “bar raisers” to improve the quality of learning and experimentation, and founding a cohort of “Privacy Bar Raisers” to build awareness and support compliance with an evolving patchwork of privacy laws, including GDPR and CCPA.
I believe in hiring people with a growth mindset, drive, and kindness. A great team is more than the sum of its parts. People do their best work when you trust them, empower them, and coach them constructively and intentionally.
I love working with people who want to level up. I’ve mentored numerous engineers, product managers, and people managers through promotions, role changes, and skill building.
Growth, fitness, integrity, and kindness shape how I live and what I build. I care about products that help people, creative experiments, and the process of getting better.
Outside work, I’m into strength training, cooking, and grilling. I also make apps, music, and cartoons, and build watches from time to time—a hands-on outlet for my love of the details.
I love street art—especially Banksy and Kre8—and the way a little surprise can make you stop and look. I want to bring some of that spirit to the things I make.
